This series in general is heavy on language; however, there is almost always an asterisk in the word. Actual examples from this volume: sh*t, a$$hole, son of a b*tch, f*ck. Even though the words have blanked out letters, it is used fairly often, so it isn’t recommended for middle school. There is violence, but it is along the fantasy lines and is not gory.
